Accepted Student Handbook 2009

Overview

The VCU Medical Center Annual Report was created to raise awareness within the national, regional and local medical and health sciences communities of the center’s accomplishments during 2008. The report’s design and organization was driven by the opening of the new 15-story Critical Care Hospital and the theme “taking patient care to new heights.”

The first section of the report features an overview of the hospital. Subsequent sections — from research and treatment options to patient care and community outreach — include a special callout highlighting a unique aspect of the hospital that carries through the report’s theme. Stories about patients of the medical center add a warm, personal element to the piece.

The report’s design incorporates the colors, patterns and textures featured in the new facility to subtly continue the thread, and large, four-color photographs of the hospital and its staff interacting with patients exemplify the commitment to patient care.
