Overview

The School of Medicine New Discoveries blog was created to track the school’s biomedical advances and clinical breakthroughs, as well as faculty and student achievements, grant awards and major gift announcements, and other news.

The blog is customized to appear similar to the School of Medicine Web site (screen 1) and the date is graphically styled for effect (screen 2). The entries are submitted through Movable Type and then sent via XML to the School of Medicine home page, where a script displays and formats the stories to fit in the specified space (screen 3). The entries appear randomly on the home page and the Javascript navigation arrows allows users to cycle through the stories designated as featured items (screen 4).
