Overview
The goal of the Dr. Eugene P. Trani Web site includes celebrating the 19-year tenure of VCU’s outgoing president through photos, videos and an interactive timeline that gives the audience an opportunity to remember Dr. Trani’s journey and his legacy at VCU (screen 1).
The interactive timeline uses flash programming in the navigation, allowing users to hover over an individual entry and see its date and title (screen 2). They may also view entries by themes such as academics, student life and economic development (screen 3). A large background image accompanied by an overlay box with a brief description (screen 4) serves as the focal point for all 40 timeline entries. Many entries also include a slide show (screen 5) and video that can be viewed within the page. In addition, the Web site features a video tribute, reception slide show and a link to view the Defining the Urban University Influencer.
